Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Tinting Skills, window tinting, and getting started.
Platform & Access
What is Tinting Skills?
Tinting Skills is a video learning platform that teaches car window tinting through POV (point-of-view) tutorials filmed via Meta glasses. Every video is filmed from the installer's eyes so you see exactly what they see — every cut, every tuck, every squeegee stroke.
Is this a subscription?
No. Tinting Skills is a one-time payment for lifetime access. You pay once and get access to the entire video library forever, including any new tutorials added in the future.
What devices can I watch on?
Tinting Skills works on any device with a browser — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Most installers prop up a phone or tablet in their workspace and follow along.
Can I download the videos?
Videos are streamed through our platform and cannot be downloaded. This protects the content and ensures you always have access to the latest versions.
How do I track my progress?
Your dashboard automatically tracks which videos you've watched and how far you've progressed. You can also bookmark videos to come back to later.
Is this really a one-time payment?
Yes. You pay once and get lifetime access to the entire library, including any new videos added in the future. No subscriptions, no renewal fees.
Can I watch on my phone while I work?
Absolutely. The platform works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. Most installers watch on a phone or tablet propped up in their workspace.
Window Tinting
Do I need experience to start?
Not at all. We built this course to fast track you from an absolute beginner to a confident window tinter. The POV (point of view) format means you see exactly what the installer does - you're stepping into our shoes. You'll see exactly how to angle the heat gun, lock down your cuts, and squeegee complex curves as if you were already doing it yourself. If you understand basic English, while being a visual learner and good with your hands - nothing is stopping you.
What types of tinting do you cover?
We cover framed rolling windows, frameless rolling windows, stationary/quarter windows, hatchback rear windscreens and coupe rear windscreens. Each window type has its own challenges — and its own set of tutorials. As a member you will always have access to future updates and tutorials.
What tools do I need to get started?
You'll need basic tinting tools: an Olfa knife with snap-off blades, a hard card and squeegee, a heat gun, a spray bottle with slip solution, and a roll of quality window film. Within our library we have details of all the tools needed. Unlike other trades, window tinting tools won't break the bank. Your real investment is mastering the skill.
What film brands do you recommend?
The tutorials use professional grade film from Llumar, however there is a wide range of film you can choose from eg: SunTek, XPEL, and 3M which are widely available throughout suppliers and dealers worldwide. We discuss different types of films, eg; dyed, carbon and ceramic. Once you buy the POV course and are ready to buy material, shop around to make an informed decision based on your budget and goals.
Business & Earning
Can I really start earning or start a business from these tutorials?
The short answer is yes. Many of our students start doing paid tint jobs straight after completing the tutorials and have the videos as a guide while tinting windows. Whether it's an evening or weekend side hustle or being employed as freelancer by an already set up shop or a full time mobile operation, the techniques you learn here are the same ones shops charge £150–£400+ per car for. Also remember once you master vehicle window tinting, you can branch out to flat glass window tinting for residentials and commercial buildings.
How much can I earn tinting windows?
A typical 2-door car tint job runs £120–£200. Full vehicles go for £200–£400+. An experienced installer can do 3–5 cars a day. Mobile tinters have low overhead and can start with a minimal investment.
